Craftsman Facade
This custom home has a beautiful circular drive and grand entrance, but unfortunately poor workmanship had made this portico a bit of a nightmare, This combined with the homeowners hate for the circular columns and over the top detailing–it was time for a change. So when this update morphed into a complete rebuild we went with a classic pacific northwest styling, bringing the love of rough-sawn cedar to the front of the house and it’s become something they love.
We kept the original coved tongue & groove ceiling, rebuilt the columns, brought in some linear detailing, added in some dental moulding and wrought-iron railings on the upper deck and we love the way it pops.
We also refinished the front door which had gotten a lot of the weather over the years and it turned out better than we had expected. All of this just in time for a spring wedding for one of the homeowners daughters.
