Quartzite Dream
Every once in a while we get a chance to do something different and we jump at the opportunity! This one was a fun one to see come to fruition. The client wanted to do a soft update to their existing kitchen and living room space. The bought the home two years ago and it was originally a custom-builder who built it but went bankrupt and short-saled the home to the owners prior. So when our clients bought the house it checked a lot of the boxes they had but it was lacking a bit of the styling they’re drawn to.
So we’ve begun diving in on this house with multiple projects set for the coming years. You may have noticed we did the dream garden for them last Spring? And then we had a chance to work on the front facade update, the kitchen and a few other fun ones we’ll share soon.
The client wanted to upgrade the cooktop on the island and do a different color to break up the heavy browns found in the kitchen and living room space. So we introduced a cream colored painted island, made the footprint larger, incorporated some hidden storage, new pendant lighting and then a rare Brazilian quartzite top in a leather finish. Photos just can’t do it justice!
We also repainted the living room wall space to a dark color to help picture frame the beautiful outdoor setting they’re in and updated the fireplace surround with a beautiful marbled quartz wrap which we also put on the surrounding kitchen counters. Now the kitchen and living room space are multi-dimensional and beautiful.
