Traditional To Mid Century

Traditional To Mid Century

This project was a quick turnaround with a tight timeline while the clients went overseas for a month. The project began as a small compartmentalized ranch space with a sunken living room, small kitchen and dining room space and two separate living spaces and has morphed into a large entertainers space, while still allowing for separate spaces when the grandkids get rowdy.

This project was unique in the sense that the homeowners have never really purchased any furniture, instead embracing family pieces over the years. And while everything was quality, it was a little tired and a little more traditional leaning than their tastes really lean. We found that the more we talked, the more they really desired a mid-century vibe. So we embraced that incorporating wood tones, clean lines, interesting stone insertions and then embracing a couple of really beautiful mid-century pieces that are heirloom pieces we’re having restored.

The house now functions better for this family of 3, while embracing plenty of space for extended family visits and grandkid shenanigans.
